During September 2020 there was a big effort by the Community Police Forum of Harrismith, all Sub-Forums and the Police Sector Commanders to highlight the problem of Gender Based Violence in our community. It was a Joint Venture with the Department of Health in Harrismith.
From 10 to 17 September Mrs Ntombi Tshabalala, CPF Chairperson, with WO Kleingeld, Swart & Sgt Motaung mobilised the community on a daily basis through a Whatsapp Social Media Campaign on all Community Whatsapp Groups in Sectors 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Harrismith. This was supported by Mrs Annandale of Dept of Health.
On Friday 18 September the community, schools and business places responded in mass when they wore Pink clothing and made their business places Pink to show solidarity with Women who are facing Family Violence.
